The ioHann Test

WARNING: This is really long. i decided to narrate it thi way dahil CommArts ako (hehehe) but no, just to give a first person narrative of what happened to me. but if you find it too long and boring to read, just ask me what happened and ill summarize it for you (^_^) or just scroll to the last few paragraphs.

for those who didnt know, i have just recently realized that i am a victim of injustice of the College of Arts and sciences and the Humanities department.

"Garcia, mang Mar was looking for you last week in class, but you were absent"

"yes sir i was summoned again this morning in my 7am class"

"Ah ok. graduating ka di ba? hala lagot, there must be a problem kaya ka hinahanap ng college sec"

"i have no idea sir, i hope not."

"Mang Mar, bakit po?"

"ayan, Garcia. last week pa kita pinapatawag. may dala ka bang Plan of Study mo?"

"huh? sa bahay po. di ba po dapat may copy kayo dito?"

"yun nga e. wala eh. tingnan mo… o, wala talaga. kahit sa UP LOAD (computer) wala din."

"eh paano naman nagyari yun? may copy si maam JC (adviser) at ako, countersigned pa yun ni Torreta (dep head) at Peralts (former college sec). san naman napunta yun? bakit po ba?"

"eto kasi last week ko lang nakita. ayan o, CMSC2 Introduction to Internet."

"oo nga po, first year second sem ko pa yun nakuha. nasa plan of study ko po yan. countersigned et all."

"hindi kasi credited yan, CMSC11 yung credited. hala, issue pa to last year eh. andami nyo ngang mga comm arts na napatawag dahil dito."

"bakit di ko po alam yun?" "eh… pinatawag ka rin yata.."

"mang mar, malalaman ko po yon, lahat ng classes ko for the past 2 sems ay nasa HUM. andito ako palagi."

"eh wala kasi plan of study mo dito eh. last week ko nga lang nakita nung ginagawa na yung records mo"

"eh bakit nga po kaya nawala yun? every sem nagsusubmit ako ng plan of study diba?"

"wala eh, hinanap ko na eh."

"Mang mar, bakit dati sinabi credited daw yung CMSC2? the fact na counter signed yung plan of study ko ng college sec and dep head ay valid yun, black and white clear CMSC2 yung nasa elective ko.at nasa curriculum din yun im sure, may copy po ako sa bahay."

"yun nga yun problema last year pa eh, mali yata yung nasa curriculum."

"sige po mang mar, kunin ko lang lahat ng stuff ko tapos balik ako dito."

"mabuti pa, kausapin natin si maam Cece (CAS college sec) baka pwede na iconsider ‘to, elective lang naman yan eh."

"tignan nyo mang mar, Math11 — dalawang number 1, yan ang eleven. tapos CMSCII - dalawang letter ‘i’, di naman pwedeng ‘eleven’ yan. Malay ba namin sa course title, kasalanan nung gumawa nito, its not our fault napakuha kami ng CMSC2."

"Oo nga ano… eh hindi daw talaga pwede ang Internet eh (CMSC2) ayan na si maam Cece, kausapin natin."

MAR: Maam, may problema po siya. eto po

SEC: eto nanaman to, diba naresolve na tong ComSci elective issue na to matagal na?

MAR: oo nga po. kaya lang nawawala po yung plan of study niya, hindi yata siya nasabihan

SEC: ano!? bait nawawala?

MAR: hindi ko nga po alam eh, kahit sa computer namin wala eh.

SEC: bakit ganon. this is not supposed to happen. nasan na? may copy ka na ngayon? hijo who is your adviser?

HAN: Maam JC Fernandez po.

MAR: sinubukan ko po siya ipatawag kaya lang wala siya eh, may klase yata.

HAN: Maam, i’ve talked to her about this already.

SEC: o, didnt she check your plan of study before signing it?

HAN: maam she did po…

SEC: She should know this! you mean to say hindi nya alam!?

*NOTE>> My Plan of Study was signed 2003. the issue was only discovered and brought up a year later. my adviser could not have noticed, plus its just a stupid elective.

SEC: o, Mar, bakit hindi nyo nacheck to? o yan nga o, CMSCII, Introduction to Internet.

MAR: eh, baka nakaligtaan ko lang po. kasi ang pagkasulat nya CMSCII, eh kung roman number CMSC2 po yan mapapansin ko po yan

SEC: hijo, CMSC11 talaga specified elective niyo. Hindi talaga pwede CMSC2. This is not a new issue, all the students who took comsci 2 had to take another MST elective because it really isnt credited.

HAN: i understand the rules, maam. but are we to be blamed? with all do respect maam, pero kasalanan ko po ba na nawawala yung Plan of Study ko sa Department?

HAN: and in the first place, it’s a typographical error that caused us to take the course.

MAR: Maam, baka naman pwede nalang ma-ano ‘to… elective lang naman ‘to eh.

SEC: Hindi talaga pwede. this has been resolved already, wala na nga tayong magagawa pa. kasalanan yan ng HUM department. they are the one who made the curriculum. but i doubt that talking to Sir Torreta would make any difference. in fact, may ilan ngang students na nag-extend just to take 3 units of their MST elective eh.

HAN: with all do respect maam, i know im in no position to question the rules or our curriculum, but being a former Computer Science student…

MAR: oo nga po maam, shiftee po siya.

HAN: …i well understand the difference of CMSC2 snd CMSC11. and i personally would tell you that CMSC11 — which is computer programming, like C and Pascal prog languages, is quite insignificant to our course; when in fact CMSC2 — which is web page designing, html and internet is VERY useful and significant to our course given that we are taking COMA105–Advertising and SPCM107– which is Public Relations. It makes me wonder what basis did the ‘creators’ of our curriculum, especially on our specified MST electives, use to choose such courses.

SEC: I understand your point. tell that then to your department head.

MAR: Maam, paano na po siya?

SEC: it’s impossible to take the course now because the sem has already started. how many units do u have, hijo? HAN: 14 units po. 2 units manuscript

MAR: ay.. (tsk tsk)

SEC: (hopeless sigh)

HAN: Maam, with all do respect.. we all have our responsibilities and pressures. i am expected to graduate this sem, and alot of responsibilities, people and other reasons pressure me to graduate this semester, and i am held back by a reason that is not my fault, and as how you put it, "wala na tayong magagawa pa"

SEC: . . .

HAN: I don’t have a choice do I?

SEC: (shrugs)

HAN: We’ll see each other in court BITCH.  <hehe, of course i didnt say that. but in my mind i did)

my conversation with my adviser and Torreta is another story that will just piss you off 10x more so i decided not to document it. like how they all put it, this has been a battle once fought and lost by a number of victimized comm arts students before me, who are all taking other MST courses this sem, and even extended for it just to graduate… what can i do, im fighting by myself? injustice. that’s the word. my adviser suggested to bring it up to the vice chancellor, maybe i will. im just waiting for my dad come back from wherever. he’s the agressive one and he’ll screw them all when he finds out. in short, worse comes to worse, im extending another sem. you must understand, i really dont mind extending. ill be with the jocks for another sem, be around for another feb fair…. but like i said, we all have responsibilities, we tread on expectations, and my parents have sacrificed enough for me to extend. i’ll probably get a job to self-support if im extending.

well… apparently i do. i was walking around campus all day in and out of class in PINK!

TimeZone @G4 yup, our second home.  timezone-starbucks-timezone-starbucks. thats pretty much it up until around 1 or 2am, or until TimeZone closes. My brother got hooked on Ghost Squad, this  cool shooter game, so like he has to get his perpetual doze of gaming (^_^) anyway, its all good

this is my 2nd cousin Migs. he’s obsessed with Undertaker form WWE and loves doin this to his eyes.(*_*)  and likewise his mom and grandma hates it when he does it — even in church he does it.

oh yeah, in the mall too –>

he quotes "rise from the dead" in a low freaky voice and does the undertaker thing to his eyes. cool!

btw, if you guys listen to Magic 89.9, you might be familiar with dj Faith who broadcasts primetime on The Hustle, 6-9pm Mondays to Thursdays — that’s his mom (^_^)

This is Kayla, my second cousin (^_^) she in the country for 2 weeks with her hot friend Lauren.  Like we say, she has the body of Michelle Rodriguez (Resident Evil 1, SWAT, Blue Crush) and the face of Katie Holmes (yeah you know who she is).  her bod is justified by her athleticism and *training*, coz she was planning to join the AirForce or military or sumthin (that’s hot!), and they’re like required to be *physically fit*, which she pretty much is.. i cant even match her biceps. she’s with her friend Lauren , that hot (tall) blonde who’s into gangsta rap.. well actually both of them are (^_^).  it’s kinda weird seein two white chicks  bobbin’ their heads bustin’ them rhymes like them homies do it in the hood. Aayiieah!

"so do you chicks go clubbin’ back in Tampa?"

"at our age? nah," oh by the way, they’re just 17. that’s like underage for clubbin in the states.

"hehe, welcome to the Philippines! we goin’ clubbin tonight" 

"won’t they ask for ID or sumthin?"

"No.  and you girls have all the prerequisites anyway (smile)"
"what’s that?"

"first of all, you’re WHITE.  second, you’re TALL.  and third, you’re both HOT CHICKS. with that, it dont matter if you’re 12 girl!"

and so we party!  with my brother on the wheels, destination: eastwood city
since my brother is the one who knows the best clubs around, he takes the lead.

speaking of  jam packed! i felt like squeezing in fete de la musique again, minus the jolog gang mobs. anyway, thanks to my brother we didnt have to rot in the long queue of clubbers on the entrance, probably because we were with white chicks too.

This is Fjel (pr. fiel) cool name noh? She’s my table tennis buddy every friday at the SU building.

Yeah i know she’s hot, but she’s also one of the coolest friends i have in LB (^_^) we decided to play every friday for exercise.  talk about inspiration to exercise…:)

…and we also banned McDonald’s from our diets, not only because of Super Size Me! but because we are serious in this losing weight and getting healthy thing. (well at least i convince myself!)…but as seen in this picture, we were forced to eat in Mcdonald’s because of peer pressure. :p
but of course there are other crazy people around us that love to bug our table tennis sessions *(^_^)* more really HOT people. everyone’s hot except for me of course.
